Introduction
These terms outline the agreement between Makeup By Steph NZ ("we," "us," or "Makeup Artist") and you, the Client, for makeup services ("Services"). By booking and paying the required non-refundable booking fee, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.We provide professional makeup services but cannot guarantee outcomes affected by undisclosed allergies, illnesses, or environmental factors.
Booking and Deposit
Special Occasions: To secure your appointment, a non-refundable booking fee of 50% of the total cost is required. This fee will be deducted from the total amount, with the remaining balance due 7 days before your appointment.Weddings: To secure your wedding booking, a non-refundable booking fee of $200 is required. This fee will be deducted from the total amount, with the remaining balance due 7 days before your wedding date.
Payments Payments can be made via bank transfer or card (through Hnry). Payments are considered received once cleared into our account or confirmed via Hnry. The remaining balance (less the booking fee) is due 7 days before your appointment or wedding date. Late payments may incur a $50 fee.
If payment is not received by the due date, we reserve the right to cancel the appointment.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible. The booking fee is non-refundable, and cancellations or rescheduling with less than 72 hours’ notice may still require payment of the remaining balance. If we need to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness, emergency, extreme weather, traffic, accidents, or government restrictions, we will work with you to reschedule, provide a qualified substitute artist at no extra cost, or refund any booking fee already paid. We always aim to reschedule to a time that suits you.Second Artist
For bridal or group bookings of 7 or more people, a second artist may be required. This incurs an additional non-refundable booking fee, confirmed at the time of booking. Final numbers must be confirmed at least 4 weeks before the event. Late confirmations may result in no second artist being available.We allocate approximately 1 hour per person for makeup. Late arrivals may reduce application time, with no adjustment to fees. If we cannot provide a second artist, we will arrange a substitute or refund the second artist’s fee.
Service Changes
Any changes to the Services must be agreed upon in advance via email. Extra services on the day may incur additional charges, based on our standard rates.Illness, Allergies, and Skin Conditions
Please let us know about any allergies, sensitivities, or skin conditions before your appointment. Clients must disclose all relevant conditions prior to the appointment.We follow strict hygiene practices, including sanitised tools and disposable applicators where needed. If you have a contagious illness (e.g., cold, conjunctivitis, cold sores), we may need to postpone your appointment. In these cases, the booking fee remains non-refundable. We are not liable for reactions.
Conduct
Please arrive on time with clean, makeup free skin. Clients must provide a clean, well lit workspace with access to a power point and table. Late arrivals may shorten appointment time to keep on schedule, with no fee reduction. Significant delays may lead to cancellation, with the booking fee forfeited. We reserve the right to stop services if the environment is unsafe, unprofessional, or prevents us from providing services. In such cases, no refunds will be provided.Early Start and Travel Fees
Bookings before 6:30 AM incur a $50 early start fee. Travel within Christchurch is $15 flat; for greater Christchurch, $1.30 per km return from Bishopdale. Out of town or destination bookings may include travel time, transport, and accommodation, which will be agreed by each party.Touch Ups
Immediate touch ups at the end of Services are included. Additional touch ups during events may incur an extra fee, agreed upon based on time required.Photography Consent
By booking, you consent to photos or videos being taken for promotional purposes unless you notify us in writing (before or at your appointment) that you do not wish to be included.Service Quality
We strive to provide the highest quality services. If you are not satisfied, please contact us within 24 hours so we can discuss solutions.Liability
We are not liable for damages, injuries, or losses beyond our control, including venue conditions or undisclosed Client information. Clients may be responsible for replacement costs if products or personal items are accidentally damaged during the appointment.Amendments
We may update these terms at any time. The terms at the time of booking apply unless you agree to updates.Privacy
We collect and store Client information, including contact details and allergy information, solely to provide Services and in line with New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020. Data is not shared without consent, except as required by law.Contact
